Teacher's Center
At the Teacher's Center for Global Studies, one of six global education centers in Massachusetts, K to 12 teachers in Central Massachusetts receive the training and resources they need to equip their students for the future. The Center offers five services, including:
• afternoon and day-long workshops throughout the year on a range of international issues. As part of the Massachusetts Geographic Alliance, the Center is committed to promoting geographic literacy. All programs offer professional development points.
• a Teacher's Library, with hundreds of curricula, videos, and other teaching aids to borrow. Located in the COPACE/ALCI House, 138 Woodland St., the library is open daily from 10:00 a.m.-5:00 p.m. Sections of the library may be loaned to schools for extended periods.
• an annual, intensive, two-week Summer Institute which grants graduate credit to teachers.
• one-on-one consultations for teachers and school administrators who wish to incorporate a global perspective into the classroom.
• curriculum development stipends in conjunction with some workshops.
