Financial Assistance
Financial Assistance is available for students who have matriculated into a degree program at the College of Professional and Continuing Education. Whether you are full time (3 courses are considered to be full time for financial aid in COPACE) or part time, undergraduate or graduate, if you have a financial need, it is well worth exploring the options. Money is available to eligible, matriculated students (U.S. citizen or permanent resident) with a demonstrated need who show successful advancement toward the completion of a degree and are enrolled at least half time (2 units per semester).

Financial Assistance for Graduate Students
Federal Direct Stafford Loans (FDSL), guaranteed by the federal government, are available. Current federal regulations require all applicants for a Federal Direct Stafford Loan to file a Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA). To apply for a Stafford loan, students must complete FAFSA and a Clark Application for Financial Aid and submit signed copies of their most recent federal tax return and W2 forms (i.e. 2008 for school year 09-10).
COPACE Friends Scholarships are also available.
Suggested Lenders for Alternative Loans
Clark University conducts a formal review of various lenders annually and suggests lenders based on their competitive interest rates, favorable borrower benefits, and excellent reputations for customer service. For the recommended lender list, please visit the Financial Assistance pages: http://www.clarku.edu/admissions/financialaid/prospective/solutions.cfm
THERE ARE IMPORTANT CHANGES TO FEDERAL LOAN PROCESSING BEGINNING WITH THE 2009-2010 ACADEMIC YEAR
Veteran's Education Program
All credit courses offered by COPACE are approved for eligible veterans under the provision of Chapter 38 Veteran's Administration Education Program. Veterans pay tuition and fees at the time of registration and are reimbursed by the Veteran's Administration (VA). Veterans eligible for assistance, or who think they may be eligible, should apply to the regional VA office, (800) 827-1000, before registering for classes.
Third-Party Benefits
COPACE accepts tuition reimbursement from Massachusetts Rehabilitation and the Department of Social Services. When registering for a course, students should submit the appropriate completed forms from the reimbursement agency.
Employer Reimbursement
Students who will be reimbursed by their employers must pay full tuition and fees at registration or make special arrangements with their student account representative. Employer reimbursement policy letters should be submitted at registration each semester. To ensure timely reimbursement, students must sign up for "early grades" at registration.
How to Apply for Scholarships
Clark's Office of Financial Assistance will guide you through the process of applying for federal, state and COPACE scholarship dollars. For more information, please contact the Office of Financial Assistance at 508-793-7478.
Eligibility is based on financial need. A standard formula is used to determine the difference between your cost of education (including tuition, books and fees) and an amount you can be expected to contribute. Factors such as income and assets are all taken into consideration, as well as any extenuating circumstances.
